RADIANCE OF SILVER

At MOSSA, we work only with precious metals. Our pieces are crafted from 925 sterling silver, which is either plated with a thin layer of 999 fine silver or coated with gold plating or nano-ceramic finish. Coated pieces are resistant to tarnishing, since the outer layer seals the silver beneath. However, silver-plated pieces whose protective layer has worn away over time may eventually develop a patina or discoloration.
Silver tarnishes due to a chemical reaction with substances in the air or/and on the skin. This process can be accelerated by such factors as humidity, sweat, chemicals, direct sunlight, contact with perfume, or even - as one customer shared - "probably should have taken my earrings off before diving into radon hot springs".
To protect your jewelry from this, follow simple rules. First and foremost, avoid exposing pieces to moisture, chemicals, or direct sunlight. Usually, this is enough to keep them looking pristine for years. If you notice tarnish, you can take your jewelry to a professional for cleaning, or try an at-home cleaning method.
Why does silver tarnish?
Boil water
Add two tablespoons of baking soda and a small ball of aluminum foil
Put the jewelry in the solution for 20 minutes (leave the foil in)
